Regular attendance is essential for student success. Parents and guardians are responsible for reporting and clearing absences in a timely manner. Students may be marked truant if an absence has not been verified by a parent/guardian through the Attendance Office

Reporting an Absence
If your student will be absent, please notify the Attendance Office on or before the day of the absence.
To report an absence:
- Call 916-566-3445
Leave the following information:
- Student’s full name (please spell the last name)
- Date of absence
- Reason for absence
- Parent/guardian name and relationship to student
- Contact phone number
Absences may also be cleared by:
- A written note sent with the student upon return
- A phone call from a parent/legal guardian
- An email from a parent/legal guardian

To pick up a student early:
- Visit the Attendance Office in the Front Office
- Present a valid photo ID
- Sign an Off-Campus Pass
Important reminders:
- Students will only be released to individuals listed on the student’s Emergency Card.
- If your student needs to leave during P.E., please call at least 45 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
- Contact the Attendance Manager for early release requests.

Students arriving late to school must have their tardy verified.
Parents/guardians may:
- Send a written excuse with the student
- Call the Attendance Office
- Email the Attendance Office regarding the late arrival
Accepted reasons may include:
- Illness
- Medical appointments
- Personal circumstances
Students arriving:
- Within 30 minutes of the start of school without an excuse may be marked tardy
- More than 30 minutes late without an excuse may be marked truant
